'I LoVe N.Z' Exhibition may 26th-June1st

'Playing in the Paddock'
Acrylic on board 600 x 600 x 20mm

My inspiration for this exhibition is Kiwiana and images from our popular culture.

Icons that we grew up with that represent New Zealand to us.

I began with the toys because as a child, I would think after I had gone to sleep they would come to life. Buzzy Bee, Mary-lou and Big Ted have come to life and are doing typical NZ things that we all consider to reperesent home or our beautiful country.

Other paintings are inspired by the landscape or just beautiful thing I have seen, or quirky things I consider to be Kiwiana. Not all paintings are on here yet as a few are still in progress.

To enquire about any of the paintings please email me on shelly_davidson@hotmail.com

Awesome Shelly - looks like you've been flat out. Best of luck for your exhibition : - ) I'll look forward to seeing them in the flesh. I also checked out the group exhibition at the Old Stone House and your Golden Tree looked wonderful.
The Kiwiana paintings are really clever!!!
I can see why 'Smoko in the Shed' is your favourite - I love this one too!
Thanks for the invite - see you sometime during the week of your exhibition.
Cheers Deanna
